Christine Alden, a young genealogist, is flat broke and frantic to escape an obsessive ex-husband when heart-pounding handsome Michael Chandler shows up on her doorstep with an offer of a job on his isolated barrier island estate.
She didn't count on having to deal with his dysfunctional family. Murder never entered her mind. And she certainly didn't plan on falling in love with Michael Chandler.

Pre-release praise for Shadow of the Banyans

SHADOW OF THE BANYANS takes you on a spooky, suspense-filled trip to a mansion on a secluded Florida island. The cast of characters is worthy of Agatha Christie. Author Deanne Miller spins a tale that will keep you guessing right up to the final pages. Highly recommended for lovers of nail-biting romantic suspense.

Notch or not, his compelling gaze held her, blurring her surroundings.
"There'll be just the two of us."
Just the two of them? She blinked, and the room came back into focus. "But, I thought… where's your mother?
"She and my brother went over to the mainland to meet Elliott. He's been in Tampa the last two days. They won't be able to get back until this storm blows over."
If they couldn't get back, she couldn't leave. She was trapped, cut off from the rest of the world.
"Are you sure you're all right?" he asked.
How could she be all right? She was stranded on an island with the sexiest man she'd ever seen. A smuggler according to rumors, a pirate that would steal her...
